Our Story

Met Cares was founded in 2015 with a bold vision: to invest in leadership, opportunity, and educational excellence within North Tulsa. What began as an initiative connected to Greenwood Leadership Academy laid the foundation for our belief that community-driven leadership is essential to student success.

Over time, our organization evolved  listening closely to families, educators, and community partners. Through those conversations, one truth became clear: when parents are supported as leaders, students thrive.

Today, Met Cares is a parent-centered community organization committed to uplifting parents as advocates, decision-makers, and partners in education. We believe parents are a child’s first and most influential teachers. When they are equipped with resources, confidence, and community; academic outcomes improve not only for individual students, but for entire school systems.

Our current focus is the Central feeder pattern, where we work alongside families to strengthen engagement, foster leadership development, and create pathways for long-term student success. Through workshops, partnerships, and community-driven programming, Met Cares supports parents in navigating educational systems, advocating for their children, and building collective power.

Rooted in North Tulsa and guided by the voices of those we serve, Met Cares remains committed to ensuring families are not just involved, but empowered.

Because when parents lead, the future is bright for our community.
